Welcome to the Ashe County Register of Deeds website. As custodians and managers of large numbers of public records, we are proud to provide answers to questions you may have regarding our office. The Register of Deeds Office exists primarily to enable the owner of an interest in property to give public notice of that ownership.

We also house many other public records, such as births, deaths, marriage licenses, and notary oaths. We are pleased to record the military discharges (DD-214s) free of charge to our retired military.

The General Statutes of North Carolina govern the Register of Deeds Office. We are responsible for the maintenance, integrity, and safe-keeping of all public records for which we are legally entrusted.

It is the mission of this office to properly enforce these laws, while at the same time providing the highest possible level of customer service.

Please browse our site to learn the ways we may be of service to you.
