The New River
The New River is one of the oldest rivers in the world. It also is one of the few major rivers that flows north instead of south. In 1998 the river was designated an "American Heritage River" and is known for its beautiful scenery. Many hours of enjoyment can be found canoeing, kayaking, and camping near this beautiful river. Jefferson Landing was designed by two-time PGA Champion Larry Nelson. The course was rated a "Top 100 Golf Course in the Carolinas" by Golf Styles and 4 1/2 out of 5 stars from Golf Digest.
Mountain Aire is a public course that offers 18 holes nestled in the Appalachian Mountains with a challenging course no matter your skill level.
Whether you are shopping for antiques or a new painting, you can find what you are looking for in one of the many shops throughout the county. General Stores are scattered throughout the area which gives a unique shopping experience to all who visit.
