It is the mission of the Ashe County Sheriff's Office to serve and protect the citizens of Ashe County; to defend the innocent against deception; the weak against oppression; the peaceful against violence and disorder; to respect the constitutional rights of our citizens to life, liberty, and justice; to perform our duties as Law Enforcement Officers with dignity and respect as we accept the challenges that confront us daily.  We will strive to be positive, professional, and impartial while carrying out our duties and upholding the law with honor.

The Ashe County Sheriff's Office is seeking funding under the 2009 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Formula Program.  From Uniform Crime Reporting Statistics, Ashe County is entitled to $20,305.00 according to the Bureau of Justice Assistance.  The application is available for review on line.

The Public is invited to comment on the proposed use of funds.  This can be done in writing (provide the mailing address) or you may call Lt. Carolyn Gentry (336)-846-5604. Comments may also be emailed to cgentry.sheriff@ashecountygov.com.

Thank you.
