Subject: Enforcement of two Grounding Electrodes

  1. Upon on review of resistance in other areas of the state and consulting with the a state and other departments it has become apparent that to satisfy the requirements of article 250.56 that it will be necessary that an additional supplemental grounding electrode be installed
  2. Beginning July 1, 2002 all permanent installations will require 2 grounding electrodes per Article 250.56. The NEC requires a minimum of 6 foot between made electrodes, however the paralleling efficiency of rods 8 feet or longer is improved by spacing greater than 6 feet
